As part of the implementation of the instructions issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as outlined in the Inspectorate General’s correspondence regarding the continuation of awareness-raising campaigns and the strengthening of cooperation and coordination with security services, the École Polytechnique d’Architecture et d’Urbanisme “El Moudjahid Hocine Ait Ahmed” (epau) organized an awareness campaign on 21 October 2026 for university students, aimed at preventing and combating the risks associated with drugs and psychotropic substances on university campuses.
The event welcomed representatives from the Algiers Provincial Security Services and the El Harrach Security Communication Unit, who delivered an awareness-raising lecture for students. The lecture included advice and guidance on the dangers of drug and psychotropic substance use and their negative effects on physical and mental health, academic performance, and social life.
The importance of prevention and awareness was also emphasized, along with the need to strengthen students’ awareness of the dangers posed by this scourge and encourage them to adopt healthy behaviours and avoid anything that could jeopardize their health, safety, and future.
This initiative is part of the university’s ongoing efforts to organize awareness-raising campaigns and strengthen coordination and cooperation with security services, thereby contributing to student protection and fostering a safe and healthy university environment.
